What do all of the youth in the poster have in common? They are students in various schools around the country. They have all been bullied or harassed in one way or another. They have all committed suicide because they felt it was their only way out.Today I am observing a Day of Silence along with the Gay/Straight Alliance Club here at the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale to call attention to the LGBTQIA youth who are being harassed or bullied in our schools. This is definitely NOT OKAY! Every person in school has the right to feel safe in their school no matter if they are straight or gay, black or white, male or female. Maybe you have experienced this or maybe you are doing it. Either way, this must stop! Let all of us stand up for our youth and protect our youth from bullies. Let us all feel safe.
